7 November: Afternoon out shopping in Nagoya. Smoking in the street is banned almost everywhere in big towns, so I end up popping into cafes every couple of hours and chain-smoking. The iced green tea is nice & refreshing on a hot day.

Kyoto-style dinner at Marriott, with aunts and cousin. Sea bream, tuna and (julienned) squid sashimi.

Grilled yellowtail filets wrapped around leeks.

My sister Hiroko joins us for coffee & cakes afterwards. My aunt's lychee mousse is delicious!

My cousin Yukie and I opt for booze rather than coffee... her hot Godiva liquer au lait & my glass of Pommery.
8 November: crab fishing season has just opened, and 2 big ones arrive from Fukui.
