9 November: "Ladies' lunch set" (and some cold sake) at Kawamura. My old art teacher (male) somehow got away with ordering the same thing...

And for dessert: a refreshing jelly, with *lots* of very fine strips of yuzu rind.
And another dinner at Nomura in the evening...

DeLuxe chawan-mushi (savoury custard) cooked with chunks of tender abalone, sharks fin, prawns - and uni on top. Wonderful dashi from the seafood!

Fat oysters simply cooked in a light, miso-based broth with leeks. A great combination, with the leeks giving the whole dish a lovely sweet flavour.

Squid meat rolled into balls, lightly seasoned and briefly deep-fried. Very squiddy, and I love the colour too.

And to finish off, I share this mini uni don with hitomi - the uni is very sweet and delicious.

11 November: Shopping in Osaka. The huge mannequin in the window of a wedding dress shop scares me shitless. (Despite the shop's name, I can see no black dress inside...)
12 November: My bento box for the shinkansen ride home: assorted veg, shimeji mushroom rice, miso-marinated mackerel and egg roll.
