Saturday, 13 December: Downtown every Saturday afternoon, just around the corner from the Parliament Square where the weekly demonstration is in action, is a stand offering free vegan food to everyone. The guy in the red jacket & a big camera is shooting the food for Taiwanese(?) TV.

Salads and some warm dishes too, but I guess they get cold pretty quickly in this weather?

The ingredients (with short shelf life left) are donated by nearby restaurants and farmers, then cooked and served by volunteers.
Across the road from the food stand is a piece by Anna Leoniak & Fiann Paul, commissioned by this year's Reykjavík Art Festival. The artist/architect pair travelled all over Iceland, photographing children, and their portraits are displayed on the wall outside the site that got burnt down a few years ago. The project is "a tribute to the generation which will decide about the future fate of the outskirts of the island, and it is also a reminder of the beauty and value of the remote areas of Iceland", according to the festival website.
Today, someone has stuck stickers bearing the words "11,182,000 Kr - SOLD!" on the children's faces. The message is very clear and effective. But the chain goes further...

Yet someone else has stuck a price tag on one of the faces: "Special offer, 295 Kr", making it an interactive piece!

The moon is huge again today. Because of the demonstration, many people are out in town with their cameras, and I spot many photographing the moon on their way home - like I did :-)

A little bit closer. These lines in snow are made by people taking short cuts across the pond.
And much closer. Interesting that moon is yellowish. Does that only happen when it's near near horizon?

Sunday, 14 December: A cold, sunny Sunday. Not many people walking on the pond.

Please excuse yet another photo of the sky/clouds...
