We say good-bye to the haunted house and drive south towards the airport, making a little stopover at a knitwear shop on the way. While Dan and John are interviewing the owner, the rest of us enjoy the beautiful, wide view and the fresh air.

Found this inside the shop.

A boot-shaped flowerpot outside.
Then we make a little detour and stop for lunch at the little village of Spiggie (they have funny place names here), where a camera friendly Shetland pony greets us.

Sandwiches at the Spiggie Hotel bar.

While sitting outside, everyone decides to stare at UsaKousa and scare them!
These things are called "snibs", not "handles", up here. (But is this sign really necessary??)

And now to the airport. To get to the terminal from the main road, you have to cross the runway - hence these manually-operated crossings!

That's the BA aircraft we have to wait for to land.

Shetland Blue Coo ice cream sold at the airport shop.

Akiko's pistaccio & Simon's choc mint.
Our flight is delayed again, due to bad weather in Faroe Islands, where it originates. Having eaten the ice cream, read the papers and watched the news on TV for a while, we learn that it's finally been cancelled. So it's back to the haunted Busta House again - and none of us complains about the chance to have another fabulous dinner :-))
To Part 11 (Monday dinner & Tuesday)
