Wednesday, 6 October: UsaKousa enjoying Shinjuku nightscape from our 31st floor room at Hilton Tokyo.
Saturday, 9 October: A group of high school and junior high school kids come over to pay respect to our dad, whose donation to the city council paid for their study trips to China and Vietnam/Cambodia.

Nice socks :-)
Sunday, 10 October/ another - and final - nabe party with young members of local UNESCO at our house. With nearly 30 people and several different pots spread over 2 rooms, it's a very lively evening!

Left: "Grown-up Nabe"

Highly piled up "Youth Nabe" (I don't quite understand what the definitions of those terms are...)

Lots of chinese cabbage, among other stuff, to add to the pots.
There is also "Yami Nabe (Darkness Nabe)" - everyone brings an ingredient along, someone prepares them and serves the pot in darkness. You have to eat it without knowing what's in it!

Apparently it's curry nabe with a strong flavour of fish sausage!

"Mmm... it's not too bad."

Someone ends up with a whole pig's foot (which he finishes - well done!)
Some people are already eating sweets in the living room, while others continue eating and drinking sake in the dining room...
